windows can't update. error code 8007000E

Did an upgrade reset on WIN 7 Pro 32 bits with the option of retaining the programs and settings. Everything went well except I can not do Windows Updates. I get an error code 8007000E.

Tried to rename SoftwareDistribution SoftwareDistribution and catroot2 to *.bak ; stop and start, bits, wuauserv, appidsvc, cryptsvc

Installed the latest Windows Update Agent


Still the error persists
