Windows Bitlocker Recovery Key?

I have a Lenovo M70t running Windows 10. I have been getting notices to upgrade to Windows 11. Now that I want to upgrade I can't find/get my bitlocker recovery key. I tryed loging into my Windows account and was able to get my laptop key. But when I type in the serial number of my M70T it does not accept it. I discovered through my reading that the key should be on the SSD. Shortly after purchasing the computer I upgraded the M.2 SSD to a faster one with more storage. Could this be why Microsoft can't find the key? I still have the original drive and have not touched it scince it was removed
