Windows Antimalware Service Executable does not stop 200mb + disk usage after several fixes. Please help.

The service Windows Antimalware Service Executable permanently uses over 150 to 250 mb of my pc. I tried making an exclusion for MsMpEng.exe, I tried making exclusions for big folders, I checked for Malware - came out negative, I used prompt to scan for corruptions - which were found - and re-installed, I deleted priority for its task schedule, and updated it, but the problem STILL persists. Any help? It's driving me nuts.
