it may be unbelievable, But I switched between windows 10, 8, 7, and ubuntu over 40 times in the past 5 month
my problem is :
windows 10 is good on features (such as WSL which I found very useful) and UI, but (at least for me) not on performance
for windows 8.1 over 10 :
it was much faster
I was not having any problem with UI, It never crashed, even in the most stressful moments, Setup was a lot faster than 10 (which does not matter but a point, expect you are setting up 50 PCs at the same time, but not for me that I want to use it a year or a few months)
the disk was performing much better than in 10
But why I installed 10:
it's updated
it has more features (for me WSL is great)
very better UI.
Most apps are going to discontinue support 8.1 anymore.
General bugs and vulnerabilities.
MS Office and printers started showing up errors.
And other problems in 8...
Now I have some problems with Windows 10 :
when my system boots up after 3 minutes, and when I have the desktop fully loaded, my memory usage is 50% (according to Windows task manager)
this value was about 25% on windows 8.1 on the same PC
and this high memory usage cause to windows always uses PageFile and the disk is often at 100 or 99%
*I'm using 7200RPM HDD and 3GB of ram
so how can I reduce idle ram usage
should I get back to windows 8.1?
