windows 8.1

I tried to upgrade to windows 10 and got a message that 8.1 was not activated I do not have the product key for 8.1 to activate to make it possible to successfully upload 10 so I just spent $139 for windows 10 and got nothing. Is there any way to actually speak to a real person to get this resolved?
