Hello,

I am trying to identify the change that has resulted in the event log (Win 7 pro) listing a 6221 error "page hashes of an image file are not valid - etc." for a file located in - device/hardisk/volume2/windows/system32/sound.dll

The first appearance of this error was dated 30/06/20 and seems to coincide with the (automatic) download of a text file found in C:/windows/windows update - of the same date. This text file appears to be a record of an extensive windows update but has no identifying file number. There is also another text file named 'setupact' and an associated file named bootstat.dat, both also of the same date.

The only windows update file listed in my windows update history for the 30th June is kb4567409 - described as 'ms edge update for windows 7 64 bit' - and that may, or may not be related to the aforementioned text and dat file(s).

I did notice that the text file named 'setupact' contained long lists of .dll file updates.

I would be very grateful if anyone can throw some light on this - and if there is a simple fix for the 6221 error.

Thanks -
