Re: FORMAL NOTICE TO MICROSOFT VIA EMAIL POST
HARD COPY SENT
Dear Microsoft Management,
My company purchased four Windows 7 Ultimate licenses for our business
and it has been the most stable, compatible and reliable OS Microsoft has
created to date. We have been loyal business customers for over 12 years.
Also, we have tested and we are currently using your new Windows 10
Pro and trying your Enterprise version as well, of which we like and may eventually
start using when ready. However, Windows 10 has many compatibility and
security issues that need to be addressed by Microsoft. Overall, we do appreciate
the efforts Microsoft has made in trying to bring a new, more advanced and
reliable OS for its users. However, Microsoft has created serious problems for
its Windows users beyond the norm, and the deceptive practice and lack of
addressing the issues affecting its users has caused us loss of work, data and
damage to our business.
*Here are the issues we find very troubling and lacking on Microsoft's end,
and which have NOT been addressed by Microsoft.
We understand Microsoft wants everyone to upgrade to Windows 10, but
by undermining Windows 7 Ultimate and Pro OS which Microsoft has
charged Businesses and Individuals for, clearly is very wrong and it has
affected many businesses and individuals. One of our PC's with Windows 7
Ultimate was upgraded to Windows 10 without our PERMISSION or knowledge
thanks to the deceptive software "update" designs by Microsoft to force users
like myself to upgrade to Windows 10. We lost data and contacts that we tried
to recover through 16 TB of data backup and we are still missing data! THIS IS NOT
AN HONEST WAY TO DO BUSINESS AND ESPECIALLY NOT HOW MICROSOFT
SHOULD REWARD ITS LOYAL PAYING CUSTOMERS!! SHAME ON YOU MICROSOFT!
This DECEITFUL practice and act by Microsoft is inexcusable!!!
It seems Microsoft is at serious fault here regarding these issues and it is
seriously affecting Businesses and Consumers alike that have paid for their
Windows 7 Ultimate and Professional Licenses. This is just WRONG!
Just recently we upgraded to SSD's for our Workstations and did a reinstall
of Windows 7 Ultimate BECAUSE We do NOT want nor are we ready for
Windows 10 - and unfortunately the "Update" process is oddly way
beyond the norm here and taking way too long. We are on day 2 of waiting for
"Updates" and have left our Workstation computer running and recording
the process for verification of this unusually lengthy Update of Windows 7 Ultimate
and Professional on two PC's on different networks. Again, this is just wrong!
As for our internet and network - we have done tests to make sure and re-did the
process to make sure it was not our network, or our PC Workstations, or SSD's.
Also, our internet connection speeds are 7 to 15 Ping, 214 Mbps, and 21.16 Upload
so clearly our network speed and connection is NOT the problem.
In the past several years we have done Windows 7 Ultimate re-installations and
never experienced anything like this. The normal Update time frame it takes for
Windows 7 Ultimate in our experience, has been several hours to max 7-10 hours.
And although this is an unusually long time for simple updates to process, it has
never taken over 1 day. But now it seems that time frame has been extended by more
than 2 days and counting, as I write this email post. The size of the updates is also very
small considering it's a few hundred MB to just over 1Gb.
Clearly, Microsoft has done nothing to address these issues - especially for loyal
paying customers that use Windows 7 Ultimate or other paid versions of Windows 7.
We have done tests on both Windows 7 Pro and Ultimate and the same unusually long
time of over 2 days is now happening, in two different PC Workstations - one of which
is 3 months old. Clearly, this is NOT right!
And This is even more troubling: Since the launch of Windows 10 the "Update"
process for updating Windows 7 has doubled or more for the time it takes to "Update"
Windows 7 Ultimate or Pro. Something is NOT right here AND Microsoft knows it!
Our Tests Show More Troubling Issues:
We did a test on one of our other computers and did a clean installation of
Windows 10 Professional and the updates and install took just under 2 HOURS!
UNREAL!!!
It seems, Microsoft has purposely allowed for the server networks that host
the Windows 7 Ultimate / Pro Updates to take an extraordinarily long time
to process vs Windows 10.
This is NOT right by any means. Either way, I will give Microsoft the benefit of the
doubt this time and not assume, until we conclude our findings. Again, so far, it
seems Microsoft is at serious fault here and it is affecting Businesses and
Consumers alike that have paid for their Windows 7 Ultimate and Professional
Licenses AND NOW HAVE SUFFERED LOSES AND PROBLEMS DUE TO MICROSOFT'S DECEPTIVE BUSINESS PRACTICE TO FORCE ITS USERS TO UPDATE TO WINDOWS 10.
AGAIN, We understand Microsoft wants everyone to upgrade to Windows 10,
but by undermining Windows 7 Ultimate and Pro OS which Microsoft has

affected many businesses and individuals. One of our Windows 7 Ultimate
OS was upgraded without our PERMISSION and we lost data and contacts
that we had to recover through 16 TB of data and we are STILL missing
data! THIS IS NOT HOW TO TREAT YOUR LOYAL PAYING CUSTOMERS!!!!!!!
If Microsoft has NO PROBLEM TAKING PEOPLE'S MONEY FOR THEIR SOFTWARE,
they should make SURE these issues are fixed and addressed.
We called Microsoft Customer Service at 1800-642-7676 and took a screenshot
and video recorded the call on hold to show of it took over 2 HOURS 12 minutes
and counting with NO one ever answering the phone or assisting in this matter
other than music on hold. This is simply wrong and UNREAL in every sense!
It is Sunday, July 17, 2016 at 5:44PM and still no answer by Microsoft Customer
support. At this point, this is just beyond me.
This gross disregard by Microsoft for its loyal paying business customers, clearly
shows there is no care of these issues BY Microsoft, nor to address them.
It is also very clear we are NOT the only Microsoft customer that has experienced
these same issues and problems that have caused loss of data and business,
therefore we are posting this notice on Microsoft's community support site
and sending a copy to Microsoft's corporate office.
We have tried everything to resolve these issues but no resolution or fix
has come or shows to be available.
PLEASE TAKE NOTICE:
Let this email post serve as a notice to Microsoft to either fix this wide spread inexcusable issue with Windows 7 Ultimate and Professional, AND
THE FORCING OF WINDOWS 10 ONTO ITS USERS, or we will pursue all legal
remedies and file all necessary complaints against Microsoft and all those
responsible. WE DO NOT CARE HOW BIG YOUR COMPANY IS - EITHER DO
THE RIGHT THING OR WE WILL TAKE LEGAL ACTION!
We have been loyal Microsoft customers for over 12 years, but these issues
in the past several months have changed our view of Microsoft. However, we
sincerely HOPE Microsoft addresses these serious issues accordingly and promptly
for all its paying customers, businesses and individuals.
Thank you for taking the time.
