Hi,
I've recently done a fresh install from the on-board original version of Windows 7 32 bit on my old Toshiba laptop. After a week or so of updates with Windows Update activated, the system seems to be running fine and up to date, but I have had a problem develop with Windows Explorer.
Whenever I open a directory containing tiff files and just hover over a file (without even clicking on it), a pop-up panel appears informing that Explorer has stopped working. There's no problem with other image files such as jpeg or pdf, just tiffs.
Having a large image library and image processing software, this is an enormous problem for me and I hope someone can suggest a solution. I should point out that I am aware of a post back in 2011 by Rick Turner relating to the same problem, and any of the solutions there have not helped. I've gone as far as uninstalling any other image related software such as Photoshop so there is only Windows image handling available, but the problem still persists.
I've run System File Checker and all is OK there.
