Windows 7 Mic not working

Hi, I'm Seun I have a problem on my compaq presario cq60 notebook pc. My microphone is not working, but it tells me the mic is present but not working cos it shows me the green bar whenever I try using the mic, but the green bar remains static. I'm on a windows 7. Speedy replies, Thanks.
