Windows 11 Wallpaper slideshow not smooth

I'm using the slideshow for my desktop wallpaper. In windows 10 the transition between the pictures was a smooth fade. I have now upgraded to windows 11 and the transition is now a blunt cut between pictures. How do I change this to a smooth fade?
