Windows 11 update to 24H2

My laptop is not updating from 21H2. Tried running the media creation tool but it is not recognizing anything but my C drive. I'm using a brand new USB drive, tried every port on my laptop. It writes to the USB drive but that's all. Does anyone have a solution to this problem? I've never had it before on this laptop when I've had to use the tool for updates.
