windows 11 password and pin

Hi Windows 11 for the past month or two keeps forgetting my sign-in options and keeps opening the account password screen instead of asking for a PIN or finger. This happens on all updates and have to set up a PIN again but does not forget my fingerprint, but no option to log in with my finger.any help would be much appreciated.found no info when searching
