Windows 11 Desktop and OneDrive. Clarification requested.

1) I keep my folders on my desktop. No discussion please. Not in a library or the library. 2) I have transferred all folders from a Windows 10 machine to a new Windows 11 laptop via an external drive. They not be transferred via OneDrive, as the folders uploaded empty.3) On initiating the new system some files were transferred, but not all. There seem to have been multiple desktop folders on that unit. This is not a problem.
