Windows 10 x64 pro scan and repair bad sectors in internal hard drive

Acronis causes report of hard drive error on backup to a 1TB Seagate internal hard drive in Windows 10 x64 pro. In Windows 7 I could start a scan (deep) and bad sector repair (albeit after a reboot). What is the equivalent in Windows 10. A scan from the Properties menu shows no error. I'm trying a full format of the drive and will see if that fixes things but I'm not optimistic; I really need to map out the bad sector.
