Windows 10 Version 22H2 DVD ISO too large for DVD

The windows.iso generated by the MediaCreationTool 22H2 (as found here Download Windows 10) for Windows 10, Langugae English (United States), Architecture 64-Bit (x64), has a size of 4,893,900,800 bytes. This is more than than the support capacity of a single sided DVD-R or DVD+R which is just 4,696,834,048 bytes or 4,689,887,232 bytes respectively. Non surprisingly, the Windows Disc Image Burner will not burn the iso and abort with status "The disc image file is too large and will not fit on the recordable disc".
