Hi. I am running Windows Pro, Version 1809, which was installed a year ago. Over the course of the last few months, I have tried at least 20-30 times to install version 1909. (Every time I try to install it, it re-downloads the entire installation package.) I have deleted the prior installation directory so that the new install would be fresh. The installation fails every time.
I have tried looking at the Event Viewer - Windows Logs | System. There are numerous errors, the Source being Distributed COM (Event ID 10010). I have searched online on how to fix the issue. Using what I learned online, I attempted to change the ownership of the class id for the COM id that is shown. The owner of that class id is myself, the administrator of this PC but it says read-only.
I am at a complete loss as how to address this. I even downloaded a full copy of Windows 10 and tried to install it, saving applications and settings and that failed also.
I am running eSet anti-virus and Malwarebytes.
Thank you in advance for the help.
