Hi,

Recently I am having an issue where User Profile Service fails frequently when starting Windows.

Usually issue happens as following:

1) Turn on PC - the User Profile Service Fails

2) Restart PC several times (or keeping it on the logins screen for few minutes and then restarting also seems to work)

3) Eventually after several restarts it will be possible to login with the original account, but it is reset to new account settings (no docs, wallpaper etc)

4) Restart PC again

5) Login again and then the original account will be loaded (docs restored etc)

It is very annoying because due to this issue it takes me ~5 minutes to start up the PC every time.

Here are some screenshots that hopefully helps:

1) now I have a lot of Temp user accounts created

2) I was reading other forum threads about modifying registry, but mine doesn't look like the ones in the guideline

The paths on the various profile lists are:

%systemroot%\system32\config\systemprofile

%systemroot%\ServiceProfiles\LocalService

%systemroot%\ServiceProfiles\NetworkService

C:\Users\ringo

%SystemRoot%\ServiceProfiles\OVRLibraryService

The state on all of them is 0

In the Profile Service/References registry folder the S-1-5-21 is referenced and the RefCount value is 03 00 00 00
