Windows 10 Thumbnails not showing, Starts with SSD and then affects my PC... please help.

So this problem keeps happening every time I access my old HDD, the thumbnails will show for like 2 minutes, then they will disappear and all you see is the white icons and maybe a few normal thumbnails. Windows 10 file explorer then starts to act weird, the green loading bar never finishes loading like normal and the only way to fix it is to restart my PC. This is a massive problem because, now if I want to access my files, I have to keep restarting my PC over and over again.
