Running Windows 10 Home 64 bit v 1903 with 8GB RAM. Everything was fine until December just gone when the PC would suddenly shut down - no blue screen or freezing, it would just shut down. Upon restart, there are no error messages and everything is working fine again, other than the annoyance of having my work interrupted. Happens about twice a day.

Things I've checked so far:

  1. Crash log says "Unexpectedly shut down" but gives no details. It logs the first occurrence to 13 Dec 2019.
  2. Checked power settings, fast startup is disabled and while I run a screen saver, nothing else is set to turn off or go to sleep
  3. Ran memory check, no apparent errors
  4. Checked updates, in case something was stuck trying to install, but apparently other than a Feature Update, I have all updates
  5. No virus or malware that Panda can detect
  6. No apparent pattern (like specific software that causes it or times of day) and I don't do anything memory heavy like gaming, most of my work is word processing so at the most I have two browsers open, an email client, a translation memory and termbase.
  7. It's not a mains power issue, there are others devices on the same setup and no other machine seems to have this issue

I note that there was a cumulative .NET update and a Windows 10 update a day before the problems started (12 Dev 2019). Are there any know issues with those updates?
