Hello,
I am on Windows 10 Pro
version 20H2
build 19042.870.
Problem background:
The laptop was purchased in China and had Windows 10 home China.
In order to change the language to English I purchased Windows 10 Pro through Microsoft service and installed it with a digital license.
I still have the purchase receipt email from that windows 10 pro purchase.
That was 2.5 years ago.
Last week my Windows 10 Pro notified me that it was deactivated.
I restarted and checked the activation and it worked again saying I have a digital license. About a half hour later the notification popped up again, the activation had been lost while I was working on the computer. This has continued for about a week. I have used steps one and two from this instruction site and they resolve the issue but it has reappeared.
If you do not want to visit the site the steps I followed are below:
Method 1.
Method 2.
Method two works each time it is run, but the problem continues. My license works, then deactivates as I am on the computer.
What further steps can I take?
Thank you for all assistance,
Patrick

If you do not want to visit the site the steps I followed are below:
Method 1.
- Go to Start Menu and type cmd.
- Right click on the result and select ‘Run as an Administrator’.
- Enter the following command DISM commands which provides any files that are corrupted.
DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth- Give it some time till it completes.
- After completion, enter the following command that scans for any corrupted files.
Sfc /scannow
Method 2.
- Go to C:\Windows\System32\SPP\Store\2.0 directory.
- Rename the tokens.dat file there to ‘tokens.old’.
- Then, open cmd as an Administrator like mentioned above.
- In cmd, type in the following commands one after the other:
net start sppsvc
cscript.exe slmgr.vbs /rilc- Restart your device twice once you’ve entered these commands.
- When your PC boots up, go to ‘Settings’ and tap into Activation.
- There, run the ‘Activation Troubleshooter’
Method two works each time it is run, but the problem continues. My license works, then deactivates as I am on the computer.
What further steps can I take?
Thank you for all assistance,
