Windows 10 Photos app has stopped scrolling through existing photos in the folder

Until recently I could double click on an image/photo in a folder and user the arrows to left and right of the image to move to the next/previous image/photo in the folder.That no longer works.There is a feature called Show filmstrip in the bottom left hand corner, but that still only shows the single image.How do I get back the 'scroll through' feature or something equivalent.
