I'm writing this in hope to help people who's had the same problem as me, and couldn't figure out the solution to how to use the bopomofo keyboard, due to the lack of proper answers available online.

If you're trying to use the Chinese (Traditional, Tawain) - bopomofo (Zhuyin) keyboard, and keeps getting this message come up:

“Traditional Chinese IME is not ready yet” on Windows 10"

There are potentially 2 easy ways to fix this.

The FIRST is simply going to the settings > Language > Chinese (Traditional, Taiwan) - Options > Keyboards (Microsoft Bopomofo) > Key Assignment > Select your preferred keyboard layout "Standard"*** (Instead of Taiwan Pinyin** which was my problem).

The SECOND solution is from the following link:

Problems using a Japanese or Traditional Chinese IME on a non-Japanese or non-Traditional Chinese version of Windows 10 immediately after installing the April 2018 Update.

  1. At the Start menu, click Cortana’s search box and type “Command Prompt”.
  2. Right-click Command Prompt in the search results and select Run as Administrator.
  3. In the Command Prompt window, type one of the following command and press Enter to install the basic typing Features on Demand package:
  • For Traditional Chinese basic typing:

DISM.exe /Online /Add-Capability /CapabilityName:Language.Basic~~~zh-TW~0.0.1.0

After this command, if it does not work, repeat the first solution (after this command).
