I first became a Microsoft Windows user with Windows 3.0 in 1990. Since then I have migrated through many versions (95, 98, XP Home, Vista Home, 7 Home Premium) and recently have installed Windows 10 Home on my desktop PC. When installing Windows 10 I replaced my two hard drives (C: & D with new hard drives. Now that Windows 10 is up and running I am experiencing three issues described below that I would like help in resolving.
User Account Control
Each time I start or restart my PC the User Account Control dialog box appears the first time I open any application (Word, Google Chrome, etc). When the dialog box appears it shows Publisher: Unknown, File origin: Hard drive on this computer and a “Yes” and “No” button. If I click the No button the dialog box disappears until the next time I start or restart the PC. If I press the Yes button the message “Please insert setup wizard CD package to continue” appears. When I insert the setup wizard package both a “Retry” and a “Cancel” button appear. I am not sure what will happen if I click the Retry button so have not done so. If I click the Cancel button the dialog box disappears until the next time I start or restart the PC.
Multiple USB Drive Entries
Whenever I have a USB flash drive inserted in my PC duplicate USB drive icons appear in the left side navigation pane of the “This PC” screen. This is very confusing especially when I I have two or more USB flash drives inserted in my PC. Does Microsoft offer an update to fix this problem? I have found several Registry Editor suggestions on the Internet but am concerned that following these suggestions may make my Windows 10 installation non functional.
Games
I miss my Windows 7 games. Is it safe to download Windows 7 games for Windows 10 at Winaero.com?
