Hello All,

I am having difficulties with my new computer running Windows 10. This computer has only ever run Windows 10 and has not been upgraded from a previous OS. About a month ago, Windows Update would say that updates were ready to be installed. I would restart my computer, but each time I was met with an error message that said the update had failed to install. Now, every time that I attempt to shut down my computer or restart it, I am only given the option to shutdown and install changes or restart and install changes. Every time, I am met with the same result. Initially, it wasn't that big of a problem. However, my usb headphones no longer work and it's come time to fix this. I am not very computer savvy, but I'm trying to learn. I have spent many nights looking for a solution; however, almost all information that I find with this error code are for people upgrading to 10 from 7 or 8. Following are the error messages from the Event Viewer.

Installation Failure: Windows failed to install the following update with error 0x80070003: Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1511 for x64-based Systems (KB3140743).

Thus far, I have removed all previous temporary update files. I have tried a couple other things based on suggestions from forums, and still had no luck. I'd list them if I could remember exactly. I know that one of them was to change some Services startups to Automatic. Basically, I've had no luck and need some guidance from those with more experience than myself.

Thanks for reading!
