After approximately 5 -weeks of interrupting prompts to upgrade to Windows 10 and in the past week having to wait out frustrating automatic Windows 10 sudden forced attempts to download, then 10 minutes of restarting the computer so that I could decline again. today it downloaded on it's own while I am writing college papers. Finally, after twenty minutes, I caved, thinking it might be alright. Now, all of my programs including pictures and school work has vanished and the folders are empty. I am in tears at the end of my B.S. semester. There is no programs listed to retrieve files, just this stupid box that calls itself Cortana that is only a web search tool! What the heck!
What do I do??? Where do I go for help???? I want Windows 8.1 back and Windows 10 to go away and get me back to normality!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
