Hi all,
I bought a new laptop a few years ago and all was fine. I was not using it for maybe a year and now I am getting an message on screen saying that I need to activate windows 10 and cannot change many settings which is annoying. I never had an activation key as windows came pre-installed. I also get a notification that my product needs to be activated when I open any office program so perhaps I just was ripped off with a non-genuine copy from the seller. One last thing to mention is that it says that I have the pro version of windows and need to connect to my corporate network. As far as I am aware it was just the basic version that came with the laptop but I may be wrong.
I bought the laptop abroad and cannot contact the shop that sold me it, is there a way to resolve this without shelling out for a whole new copy of windows? I am a student and can't really afford to do this.
