Window Pane: File Check boxes (unchecked option doesn't work) permanent bug?

2025.01.24LG Gram 17" no touchscreen, updated yesterday... left my ADHD annoyed.1. Check boxes next to icons increases size of window and on laptop screen, space is at a premium. Want check boxes gone. Unchecked, they still remain.2. Also, I really miss QuickLaunch that kept fast access to apps/shortcuts without taking up all the space along the Taskbar.Anyone have a suggestion regarding the file check boxes?
