Window 10 Legacy photos app will not work on files taken with my Nikon Z8. Codec is up to date. Works fine for Nikon Z9 files

Window 10 Legacy photos app will not work on files taken with my Nikon Z8. The codec is up to date. It works fine for Nikon Z9 files.It will display fine if I'm in tile view, but when I open a picture full screen to check for details in the image, it's fine for a very short period, and then the screen goes to crazy colors and with solid on the bottom and lots of colors and thin lines on top. I've already tried to reinstall it.
