So my topic basically states it all: This Win7 laptop will work fine for weeks and then suddenly loses and then can't connect to my wifi connections. I reboot and completely shut down to no avail. The only solution is to cycle power on my router and then it'll be ok.

But, I don't think there's anything wrong with my router as my other computers never lose the connection when this laptop does and they can repeatedly find and use the wifi connection while this laptop cannot.

Also, without resetting my router, I can run an ethernet cable to this laptop and it'll connect just fine (which is how I'm connected to ask this question right now). Also, I've set up this laptop to dual boot Win7 and Ubuntu, and I am able to connect to my wifi when booted in Ubuntu just fine so I don't think there's any hardware problem with this laptop - it's something with Win7.

I can look at the admin of my router (192.168.0.1) and see that this laptop is connected as a wired device and see my other 3 devices connected as wireless devices. But when I disconnect the wired ethernet cable and try to connect via wifi, Win7 responds that a connection cannot be made.

So what's going on? How does resetting my router help and rebooting/cycling power on this laptop doesn't? Thanks for any help/insight into this!
