Win11 - Predictive typing - selecting a suggested word deletes the last typed LETTER then concatenates the suggested word. e.g., type "howe" and pick

Brand new Lenovo laptop, Win11 Home, fully updated.Occurs in Win11 OS (eg Windows Search bar) and apps incl Edge, Google chrome, notepad, O365, etc.I've read multiple places that this is a problem. Very similar to reported problems in Teams last year (I was still on Win10 at that time).Have been through typing settings - every setting I can find.
