I can do safe mode and command prompt. After troubleshooting awhile it just goes straight into repair mode but offers nothing that works.
No rollbacks work.
Ran chkdsk and it fixed one win file but reboot didnt fix a thing. the chkdsk couldn't transfer the logs for me to view. typical.
Ran sfc scannow but that stopped at the end with an error of ...can't perform requested operation, blahblah.
Did the DISM thing that didn't relate but that helped nothing anyhow.
Stock Win Restore throws a help-me error and stops. typical.
I did create a usb bootable drive so I can fix corrupted system files if that's what I messed up.
I can't use the poor lil blackscreened laptop to download drivers even if I knew what they were and can't see the win10 system update version I'm stuck on that blew away my driver. My win7 corrected after I got it in safe mode but not this win10 (I HATE Win10). Most of us old-timers do.
So, bottom line is I just don't know enough to fix this. MY BOSS wants to blow the whole computer away and wipe out my data. I don't think that's necessary, is it? I PREFER to re-download Win10 system files if corrupted-keeping all data files--wherever they are hiding.
So HELP. Now what?
