On 2 of my Win 7 Premium computers, Windows Media Player 12, original installation on both at 6-8 years ago, crashes after just 10-15 minutes of running, whether idle or playing music or videos. I tried the trick of turning it off in Media Features under Windows Features and then back on, with no improvement.
I feel I need to reinstall WMP anew to fix this issue that I suspect was caused by a recent update to Windows on both machines. But it appears Microsoft doesn't offer it in any such manner. I tried downloading a media package for Win 7, but upon download, I got a message that it wasn't applicable to my version of Windows. I keep hitting roadblocks for something that should be fairly straightforward and not super difficult!
Any suggestions?
Thanks
