Win 7 update problem

Old Man - Old Computer asking a question. I am running Win 7 Professional and have had no problems until recently. Downloaded updates and began having reboots and BSD occasionally. Do not remember any problems with the Windows Update, just what is occurring now. Please let me know if you have any suggestions. I am somewhat computer literate . Thanking you in advance for any help you can provide.
