Wifi changes to different wifi and from private to public

Occasionally a Norton pop-up window says my computer is being connected to (mywifiname) 2 and public. When that happens, I change it to private. When I look at the list of available wifi, (mywifiname) 2 isn't listed and it says I'm connected to (mywifiname) and it is set to private. I don't know if this related, but there is a Hidden Network in the list.. Norton says my computer is protected and there are no issues. This doesn't happen on either my Android phone or tablet.
