I am trying to upgrade my Dell Ispiron 15 from Windows 7 to Windows 10.
The computer suitability checked out ok ( memory, disk space etc)
The download appears to have been successful
The installation ran slowly (not a surprise) and stopped at 99%. I left it for a couple of ours but nothing else happened.
I restarted the computer and noticed a Windows 10 assistant icon had a appeared on the home screen. I right clicked Play and the whole operation repeated, Two hours later I ended up in exactly the same situation - installation stuck at 99%.
Watched "Sewing Bee" with wife and thought about changing hobbies turned the PC off and went to bed.
Note. 1.Windows 7 still runs ok
2.The Dell is my old backup pc, used and abused by grandchildren, great grand children and their dogs! This time they can't dig me out of the whole. No shouts of Oh Gramps let me do it
