After installing the update, the restarting process began and took many hours. At the end The blue screen appeared with the error DRIVER_RNP_WATCHDOG. Despite many efforts to get the system re-booted using all methods available, including a recovery drive, I resorted to taking it to a repairer. Initially they were having issues with any method seeing a boot drive. Eventually they did manage to fix it by replacing a UEFI file on the motherboard, but by then all the other attempts had wiped my drive. With some trepidation, I allowed the same update on to my laptop, it took all night to install
