Why won't my accounts sync to my Microsoft edge?

I'm having trouble syncing my account on my pc. in the past when I first made my Microsoft account, I used my brothers email to create my account and he used our parents email to create his. for years we have always wanted to switch those emails to our own emails, so I signed into the Microsoft account went to my info and selected on edit profile info. I made my email the primary email and deleted my brothers. I believed this fixed most of my problems but when I try and sync my account on my pc it tells me that there is no Microsoft account with my email and when I try to create a new one it t
