Why, while importing photos, does my transporting fail? How to fix it?

Hello,I am having problems with picture and video forwarding form my iPhone to my laptop (Microsoft system). I do everything told in youtube tutorials "how to transfer photos from iPhone to computer" but somehow I fail. In process where you need to connect phone to laptop I allow access to my laptop from my iPhone. And after that I don't not turn the phone off. After the pairing "photos" app pops up. but still "something went wrong" notification pops up. after many clicks on "try again" button sometimes phone and laptop connects but then when I try to forward my pictures and videos a bunch of
