Why is there a delay with my keyboard?

Hello, Microsoft community.Recently, my keyboard has begun having delay issues. Whenever I go to type something, it's like my keyboard goes to "sleep" within seconds if I'm not pressing buttons on it. For example, I'll try to type a word like "get" after stretching for a minute or two, but when I type it out, the keyboard doesn't register the "g" or the "e" and only registers the "t". It seems it'll only register the last one or two letters of any word I type, no matter how long it is.Another example is when I'm gaming.
