Why is the username associated to my account different??

I have two accounts with my email, the new one I just created recently because of this problem, and the old one. But I really wanted to recover my old account because most of my files are there. I haven't had any problems with my account until my OneDrive suddenly logged out and won't let me sign in. It's been a long time since I've actually had to sign into my account so I may have forgotten some things, but the username was unfamiliar and different?
