Why is the rest of the audio muffled when i am connected to a discord call?

just got my first wireless headset and connected fine but whenever i connect to a call of any kind the background audio switches to extremely muffled like music or gameplay, ive tried troubleshooting and discord settings and moreit is a bluetooth connected "xbox wireless stereo headset"
