Why is my touchscreen not working?

So My touch screen isn't working. I go to device manager and human interface devices. I scroll down and see the other drives including the HD-compliant touch pad but it doesn't show the HD-compliant touch screen. Is there somewhere to reinstall that or what happened to it?
