Why is my ping so high?

I use ethernet and my ping is usually 8-15 on games like Valorant and Overwatch, but suddenly my ping has been anywhere from 150-250 out of no where? I have no idea how to fix this and the only way i can get it down is to clean my pc with CCleaner every time I want to play a game.
