Why is my download folder not opening?

when i open folders in file explorer they all open except my downloads folder. i have tried an sfc scan and it came up with the fact that i had corrupted files and it fixed them. i ran a second scan and it said i had no corrupted files found. after this my downloads folder still is unable to open.
