Why has my Windows Defender service disappeared?

Today I logged on to my pc and got an error saying that my security services were turned off or something, so I prompted me to turn them on but when i tried to I was greeted with another error message saying it's not possible or something. I noticed that in my task manager I still have the process "Antimalware Service Executable" running which is strange.When I open Windows Security it's completely empty and when I got to manage providers it says no providers.I suspect i have malware on my pc, a while ago I noticed a trojan and some other kind of malware but windows security said it dealt with
