Why doesn't closing the lid make the laptop go in idle mode?

I use this app called salad that mines crypto by using your computer's gpu and cpu. It has the option to start mining when the computer is idle for 1 minute. I have set the option of what closing the lid does in control panel to "Do nothing". Still, the mining doesn't start. I see no amount of crypto mines even though I left the lid closed for like 30 mins. In this much time, it usually mines about $0.01-$0.03, but it doesn't do anything. Why is the option even useful then? Is there a way I can mine even with my lid closed? Specs of required:AMD Ryzen 5 4600HNVIDIA GeForce GTX 16508GB RAM (8x1
