Why does windows close all my apps when I close my laptop lid even though the power settings arent set to act like this?

Why does windows close all my apps when I close my laptop lid even though the power settings arent set to act like this? When the laptop lid is opened, the apps are opened again and all data is lost or the apps try and "restore" the files. SMMS does this.So the question is, why does windows do this even when the power options are set correct?Why does it close the apps and try to open them again when I want them to remain open when I open my laptop?If I knew this is an issue, I would save and close all my apps and shut the laptop down.Please dont give a copy and paste response, lets sort this
