Why does Windows 11 development environment virtual machine start to a blank screen?

After downloading an evaluation virtual machine from Download a Windows virtual machine - Windows app development, and starting it up, you end up with a blank screen as follows.As of writing this it is 26 September 2023, and the image says it expires on 7 November 2023.The hypervisor is VirtualBox 7 on MacOS Ventura (Intel). Anyone know how to fix this?
