Why does my Win 11 desktop top left icon keep being moved elsewhere?

On my desktop I have many icons/short-cuts. My top left icon is a This PC short-cut. It keeps being moved to the next location available, somewhere down the left-hand side. This mainly comes when I install more software or upgrade an existing app. The new short-cut replaces the This PC short-cut at top left. How do I stop this?
