why does my touchpad randomly stop working?

brand new laptop (acerswift ultra5) and my touchpad keeps stopping like it will work for a while then just randomly stop working for a few seconds i cant click or move it around then will just start working again it happens quiet a bit within a minute of using my laptop. (just typing this out it stopped working 4 times) Does anyone know how to fix this?
